CEFAS Registered Supplier
Approved for Fish Health, Transport and Aquaculture

At East Yorkshire Fish Farm, we are proud to be a CEFAS Registered Supplier. This means we are officially licensed to breed, keep and transport live fish under UK government regulations. Our health check is undertaken in September every year before the harvest so we are always up to date.
What is CEFAS?
CEFAS stands for the Centre for Environment, Fisheries and Aquaculture Science. It is the official body that oversees fish health, disease control, and biosecurity in the aquaculture and ornamental fish sectors.
Being CEFAS registered means we:
- Operate under an approved Fish Health Inspectorate (FHI) site permit
- Follow strict standards for fish welfare and water quality
- Can legally transport and sell live fish across the UK
- Keep detailed records of fish movements and health inspections
Why This Matters
Buying from a CEFAS registered supplier protects your pond or fishery. It means:
- You are receiving fish from a healthy, monitored source
- We comply with UK laws on fish movements and disease control
- Our fish are handled and transported responsibly
- You reduce the risk of introducing disease to your pond or lake
Unregistered sellers may skip vital checks or ignore biosecurity measures. At East Yorkshire Fish Farm, we follow the rules carefully because we care about our fish and your long-term success.
